I am quite excited to announce that I have launched a brand new blog called AppleObserver. Its purpose is for me to provide an outlet for my thoughts and opinions on all matters related to Apple. I've been a long time mac user and always keep up to date with the latest news and rumors. So I've decided to set up a blog so I can air my views to the world.

New Book launched 10/08/2008
One of my good buddies from school has had his first book published. It is called "Order of the Dragon: Question of time". Its a really cool book with an excellent mixture of Tolkien detail and Pratchett humour. As I mentioned on the frontpage I designed the cover of the book which was a very daunting experience as I never really designed for print before (except for a newsletter at work). It was really great seeing the finished product and I must say it looked excellent in the flesh. Quite an exciting moment so it was.

New Camera and new panormas 15/11/2007
A couple of months ago my trusty Canon Powershot A70 developed a fault which appears to have affected a large number of Canon cameras. Basically my view finder went corrupt effectively ending its use there and then. Apparently this flaw is covered by Canon so I will be sending it off to a repair centre soon. At this stage I was desperate to get a new camera and luckly spotted that Canon were doing a promotion on their brand new Powershot A720IS. Its an 8.0 mega pixel camera with 6x optical zoom, image stabilisation and lots of new shooting modes. I have to say its been great so far and really is a huge leap forward on the A70. So obviously with a new camera I had to take some photos and what better place that the fantastic Porchester Castle just west of the city of Portsmouth. Luckly the weather was good so I was able to get some great shots of the roman and medieval ruins. I managed to get one great pano from the top of the castle keep. Shows the amazing views to be found from the top (it is worth the climb!). I've also added another photo from Pompeii which I didn't get to add last time round. Its a shot of the forum looking towards the infamous volcano.

New Panoramas and new Site Feature 15/08/2007
I've added two new panorama photos from my trip to Italy. The two pictures I've chosen are from Pompeii and Mt Vesuvio. I've also added a new "Site Feature" to the frontpage to highlight items I think are cool on my site.

New University Web Design Project 13/08/2007
I've just added my most recent web design project, the redesign of the external web site for the School of Medicine at the University of Southampton. This was quite a big project as it involved a complete rebuild of the old site, creation of brand new content, images etc, all forming part of the schools web rebranding plans. The new site is driven by a new css stylesheet and complies with the W3C web standards validation.
